Comcept Partners with ChevronTexaco Europe and Pembroke Refinery on Supply Chain Management Improvements

Comcept partnered with the "Using Oil Better & Finding Better Ways", Supply Chain Optimization and Integrated Refinery Information System (IRIS) project teams.  This partnership involved technology, business solutions, business processes and organization re-engineering.

The on-going improvements consist of:

• IRIS Applications and Systems integration and COMCENTRIC reference data model and Continuous Improvement Process (POMAI > Plan, Operate, Measure, Analyze, Improve loop)
• 25$M "Use Oil Better" project - (Refinery product value added, higher crude selection margins/trading gains, best achievable from integrated Supply Plan, Scheduling, Simulation, Reconciled Actual & Deviations Analysis)
• Organization Model, Business processes and Shift Operations/Control Rooms consolidation design
• Texaco Europe (UK/Ireland/Benelux) Supply Chain Management and Optimization

These major business improvement initiatives started from small investments for three studies, based on Comcept's experience and knowledge of best practice and what the pacesetters are doing:

• Refinery IT Benchmark and Roadmap
• LP Planning Systems and Model Audit
• SCM Benchmarking of Supply, Refining, Marketing, Trading and other functions for Texaco UK, Ireland and Belgium/Netherlands, Luxemburg
