July 03, 2003, Abu Dhabi, UAE - Comcept received,
along with partner Data Systems & Solutions, Warranty clearance for the
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implemented at the Borouge
petrochemical plant in Ruwais, United Arab Emirates. The MES has been
functioning to the satisfaction of Borouge and bringing business
improvements for over one year.
August 13, 2002, Abu Dhabi, UAE - Comcept announced today that it, along with partner Data Systems & Solutions,
has been granted full site acceptance of a Manufacturing Execution
System (MES) implemented at the Borouge chemical plant in Ruwais,
United Arab Emirates. By receiving site acceptance, Comcept Canada
and Data Systems & Solutions have fully provided Borouge with a
new, automated system of applications that provide key decision
support for plant operators and management.
Borouge, the newest polyethylene facility in the world, produces
450,000 tonnes a year of the plastic base product. The MES system
was designed around a data centric production data warehouse/datamodel,
that is integrated with the facility's business management and distributed
control systems, extracting pertinent information through a variety
of specific applications, including operation planning and scheduling,
regulatory and performance reporting, incident investigation, batch
tracking, laboratory systems and cost allocation. Access to this
detailed data gives Borouge operators increased knowledge of the
plant status, and allows for more efficient plant operations while
providing management with key performance information.
"Comcept Canada and Data Systems & Solutions have provided us [Borouge]
the means to focus energy on production in the most efficient and
straightforward manner possible. We are very pleased with the MES
and the results we have already seen", said Anne Randbye, Senior
Business Analyst, Borouge, MES Project Manager.
Borouge is owned by Abu Dhabi Polymers, Ltd.
